The ESSENCE good practice document, Five keys to improving research costing in low- and middle-income countries, has been updated for use in Latin American countries and published in Spanish.
The document, originally published in English and then translated into French, includes a review of funding practices related to the definition and funding of direct and indirect costs. Research costing has been highlighted as a major challenge for institutions in low- to medium-income countries that are seeking to develop and maintain sustainable research environments. The case studies in the English version came from Africa, Europe and North America. This new version provides 10 case studies focused in Latin America. All versions are designed to:
