The Board comprises 28 members: 12 members selected by the resource contributors to the Programme (including four constituencies of two governments sharing one seat); six government representatives chosen by the six regional committees of WHO; six members representing other cooperating parties selected by the JCB itself; and the four co-sponsoring agencies.

Members of the JCB serve for a period of four years and may be reappointed.

How to apply / reapply for membership under paragraphs 2.2.1 

An application form, accompanied by a signed letter on official letterhead, must be completed and submitted before the deadline, following the instructions on the form.

The deadline for the receipt of applications is 18 April 2026.

 

Note on the membership of the Joint Coordinating Board (Composition)

Governments wishing to apply or reapply for membership under paragraph 2.2.1 from 1 January 2027 should submit their application form and letter before the deadline.

There are currently no vacancies under paragraph 2.2.3.

Observers

Other Cooperating Parties may, at their request, be represented as observers upon approval by the JCB. A formal request for observer status should be submitted to the Secretariat no later than 30 days before the next session of the JCB.
