ESSENCE Members Annual Meeting Via ZOOM

The 2021 annual members meeting gathered participants and speakers involved in research capacity strengthening efforts to advance building partnerships for a changing world. The minutes report is available here to provide an overview of the event.

Inaugural Meeting of the ESSENCE Mechanism for review of investments

The stakeholder meeting gathered speakers and 70+ diverse stakeholders from Africa, Asia and Latin America dealing with the theme of capacity building for research for health; and offered additional perspectives on priority actions to further the goals of the ESSENCE Mechanism.

ESSENCE Members Annual Meeting via WebEx

The meeting allowed for input from members on the current COVID-19 context and challenges exchange ideas about issues on the horizon as well as an endorsement of updates from many current projects and related good practice documents.

2019 ESSENCE Members Meeting in London, UK

The meeting was hosted by Wellcome. There were constructive exchanges throughout the two days even as members shared their experiences and gave updates on their current and future plans.

4-5 March 2019

ESSENCE Stakeholders Meeting on Follow up to International Vaccine Research Taskforce (IVTF) Recommendations hosted by TDR, Geneva

The meeting gathered together representation from LMICs and major external funders of clinical research capacity to provide input for recommendations for a mechanism to review funding for clinical research capacity building in response to the World Bank and CEPI report, Money and Microbes. In terms of the substantial engagement of all participants to the discussion, the meeting can be considered a success.

ESSENCE Members’ Side Meeting in Lisbon, Portugal

The European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP) Ninth Forum meeting hosted an ESSENCE members’ side meeting in Lisbon, Portugal. It was an excellent opportunity for the participants to provide updates and raise points of common interest and possible collaborations.
