Neglected tropical diseases: Bridging the research gap in Ethiopia for universal health coverage

To accelerate universal health coverage for neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), two SORT IT courses were conducted in Ethiopia in 2021 and 2022 which resulted in the publication of 22 policy-relevant articles on NTDs, including snake bite. Research articles published in 2022 are available here:  https://jidc.org/index.php/journal/issue/view/204. Research articles published in 2020 are available here: https://jidc.org/index.php/journal/issue/view/177.

To support the effective communication of the research findings a number of the researchers received additional training from TDR to produce evidence briefs and 3-minute Lightning Presentation videos (linked below).

These efforts are part of our follow-up to a commentary from the Ethiopia SORT IT NTD group 2019 calling for greater efforts in working towards the elimination of neglected tropical diseases by 2030 as one of the Sustainable Development Goals.
