World Malaria Day special feature: Climate changes are making many communities in Africa more vulnerable to malaria. New research is finding community-based solutions by merging the studies of mosquitoes, water, temperatures, land management and social sciences.

Coordinated by TDR, with support from Canada’s International Development Research Centre, scientists are taking a multidimensional look at the problem. They’re utilizing entomology, malacology, epidemiology, parasitology, and social, economic, and environmental sciences. The teams are working in close collaboration with relevant decision-makers and the communities, particularly those most vulnerable – the women and children.
