Luchuo Engelbert Bain is a physician, empirical bioethicist, and implementation scientist with over 15 years of experience working across Africa, Europe, and North America.

He currently serves as Head of International Programs at the African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC), where he leads strategic partnerships, transdisciplinary research, and community engagement.

Dr Bain champions the decolonization of global health scholarship, the promotion of African-led research, and the integration of community voices in knowledge production. His work emphasizes best practices in equitable research funding, science communication, and science diplomacy—ensuring that science serves both justice and real-world impact.
