Biography
Christian Acemah serves as the Executive Director of the Uganda National Academy of Sciences (UNAS). He manages all programmatic, financial, and administrative aspects of both organizations. Christian's work at UNAS believes in equitable partnerships as the bedrock of lasting and contextually relevant development. He trains scientists and policymakers internationally in cross-cultural communication, science diplomacy, and evidence-informed policymaking. His previous roles include positions at the US National Academies, Quest University Canada, UNICEF, Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, and the Lutheran World Federation. He holds a first degree from St. John's College, a graduate degree from Georgetown University, and a doctorate from Vanderbilt University, with additional international certifications in corporate governance from the Chartered Governance Institute and humanitarian crises from the Institute for the Study of International Migration. He also teaches corporate law and strategy.
