Peter's journey with The Leprosy Mission began in 2008, where he dedicated nine years as a volunteer before stepping into the role of Chief Executive Officer in April 2017. His passion for aiding those affected by leprosy was ignited during a backpacking trip in the 1990s with his wife, Helen, when he witnessed firsthand the profound impact of the disease on a community. This eye-opening experience revealed to him the persistent challenges posed by leprosy and planted the seed for his future vocation.
Throughout his career, Peter recognized a calling to serve individuals affected by leprosy, viewing his role at The Leprosy Mission as both a privilege and a profound responsibility. Prior to his tenure with the organization, Peter had established himself as a qualified accountant in the insurance industry and later as the Managing Director of joinery manufacturer Scotts of Thrapston.
Peter's story is one of transformation and commitment, driven by a deep-seated desire to make a tangible difference in the lives of those battling leprosy. His leadership at The Leprosy Mission stands as a testament to his unwavering dedication and compassionate service.
