Biography

Current Head of Mobility and Transportation for the city of Guadalajara and coordinator of the Metropolitan Mobility Board of the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area.

From October 2015 to September 2021, Jesús Carlos Soto Morfín served as the Head of Mobility and Transportation for the city of Zapopan. Throughout his tenure, he has championed strategies and projects for sustainable mobility and urban planning, aiming to contribute to the creation of more just and inclusive cities. His perspective is rooted in awareness and a commitment to addressing the climate crisis and social justice.

Over the course of his career, Jesús Carlos has advocated for the agenda of sustainable mobility and quality of life in cities from various perspectives. Initially, he was involved in organized civil society, serving as an activist in the citizen collective "Ciudad para Todos" since 2007.

He also coordinated the 10th International Congress Towards Car-Free Cities in Guadalajara in 2011 and was a member of the Citizen Observatory for Mobility and Public Transportation of Jalisco from 2013 to 2015.
