Ines Costa Louro

Biography

Inês Costa Louro is a first-year medical intern from Lisbon, Portugal, currently serving as the Vice President for External Affairs at the International Federation of Medical Students' Associations (IFMSA). In this role, she represents the values of medical students on a global scale. Additionally, she is one of the Portuguese Representatives at the EVID-ACTION Youth Network at the WHO Regional Office for Europe and a member of the Youth Group that provides consultancy for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime's peer-to-peer substance use prevention program.

Recently, Inês was selected to be a member of the first cohort of the Youth Core Group at the United Nations Youth Office, where she offers strategic input to this newly established office. She holds a degree in Medicine from the University of Lisbon and has been actively engaged in public health projects. Her advocacy work covers a range of critical health issues, including mental health, sexual and reproductive health and rights, substance use prevention, and environmental health, recognizing their interconnected impacts on youth.

Inês is a passionate youth activist, dedicated to empowering young people across various domains, with the aim of enabling individuals from diverse backgrounds to advocate for their communities.
