Dan Izzett

Advocate, The Leprosy Mission Great Britain

Biography

Dan and Babs Izzett, born and raised in Zimbabwe, have since retired to the UK. They are proud parents of two married sons and grandparents to six grandchildren. Dan began his career as a civil engineering technician, managing colossal dam construction projects as a site manager. Both Dan and Babs have been profoundly impacted by leprosy, a condition that has shaped their lives and led them to become passionate advocates for those affected by the disease since 2000. Despite the many disabilities leprosy has inflicted on Dan—including the amputation of a leg, two toes, and a finger, as well as multiple burns due to neuropathy in his hands and feet—he remains an inspiring figure of perseverance and dedication.
