Since then, TDR has been training and supporting the national TB programme teams to enhance research in close collaboration with the WHO Regional Office for Africa; the WHO Global TB Programme (GTB); the West African Health Organization; the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis & Malaria (the Global Fund); the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The Union); the Damien Foundation; and European and African universities and research institutions.
The Central African Regional Network for TB control (CARN-TB) with 11 countries replicates and builds on the experience of WARN-TB. The secretariat for both networks is hosted by the National TB Programme of Benin.
