Biography
As Head of TDR’s Programme Innovation and Management unit, Michael is leading the team that manages TDR’s finances and portfolio and ensures the smooth functioning of the Programme in all aspects of technical and financial planning, monitoring, evaluation, reporting and management systems. Being passionate about ethics, equity and innovation, Michael leads the Programme’s work in crosscutting areas such as: Social innovation research to improve healthcare delivery and access, Community engagement and ethics in research, and TDR Global - our network of 4000+ grantees, trainees and experts.
Educated as a medical doctor and MBA, his 25-year experience ranges from clinical medicine, to leading preclinical and clinical research projects, heading GMP/GCLP Quality departments in biotech and pharma industry, training global experts on auditing, clinical monitoring, data management and research ethics, working to innovate management systems to deliver better value for money and enhanced impact. Michael is a Certified Quality Auditor by the American Society for Quality.
