Dr A. Gildas Yahouedo (MSc, MRes, PhD) is a medical entomologist, naturalist and public health specialist with extensive experience in entomological surveillance, vector control, research and country support for health systems strengthening. He has worked across West Africa, South-East Asia, and Western and Southern Europe on vector biology and ecology, insecticide resistance mechanisms and management, laboratory and field evaluations, and the operational deployment of vector control interventions.
Prior to joining TDR, he served at the WHO Global Malaria Programme where he contributed to key global initiatives, including the global database on insecticide resistance, Malaria Threats Map, DHIS2 modules for entomology and vector control, malaria programme reviews and National Strategic Plans in low-and-middle income countries, guidance on insecticide resistance monitoring, surveillance of invasive vector species and World Malaria Reports.
He currently serves as a Technical Consultant in TDR’s Research for Implementation Unit, supporting the implementation of Early Warning and Response System for climate‑sensitive diseases (EWARS-csd) in several countries worldwide and integrated strategies for the prevention and control of malaria and other vector‑borne diseases favouring multisectoral approaches in a context of climate change.
